About Us
My husband Allan and I have been married for 30 years, we have three lovely son's David who is engaged and lives with his young lady Michelle. David is 29 and currently works as a Claims Manager. They have two spaniels ( Harley and Roman) and are interested in breeding lizards , they have quite a few different species in their home. Gary is 26 and still at home, he is extremely good with computers and sets everything up on our website which he built from scratch. Gary works for HP and is at the moment working on a government contract for the Prison Service. Our youngest is Paul, he is 21 and is at Lincoln University studying Media and Single Camera. Paul has a blind cat called Maya ( doesn't let the family down does he?) and 14 pet rats. Paul is in his final year at University and so at the moment we are looking after Maya.
Meet The Family
As well as all our Bengals, we have many other pets
at our family home, here is a little bit about everyone.
Firstly we have Logan he's 8, he's a huge grey hairy monster who eats too much and gets spoilt by our neighbour who feeds him bacon because he likes it! Logan looks like a wolf and thinks he's a dog. He doesn't have a very loud meow and always sounds like he's got a sore throat but he can bark and frightens all the local dogs. He was born here and has never strayed very far from home preferring to lounge around being stroked and loved.
Next we have Penny she's a little black and white rescue cat, my son Gary adopted her 10 years ago. She has always loved Gary and considers him her kitten she licks him and loves him and he can do anything with her and she tolerates being cuddled like a baby just for a chance of sitting on his knee.
She has a lovely nature and has only one vice, she hates my little feral rescue cat (Willow), she will not tolerate her at all and chases her spitting and clawing at her whenever she can.
Then we have the strange little feral cat that I got from a rescue centre, Willow is 3 she is a beautiful white brown and black cat. She and her dead mother were found on the edge of the A19 road. She was a tiny kitten and very frightened but had stayed with her mum who had been hit by a car. When she was found the RSPCA girl had to throw a blanket over her because she was spitting and growling at her to stop her from touching her mum. I saw her when she was 6 month and no one wanted her because she was so stand offish and surly. I played with her and talked to her through the bars of her pen and she seemed to like me, that was that I brought her home and she's been here ever since. Willow is still very nervous and trusts only me, my son's and husband have tried but she's very frightened of men and won't tolerate being touched or picked up by them. She is ok with me and I love her, she comes and goes as she pleases and stays well away from Penny.
Our chickens are for eggs and not meat, we have 3 warrens, 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Black Rocks, 1 Light Sussex, 2 Mendleshams and 5 Brown Nicks. They are in two coops and boy are they stinky, we seem to be cleaning poop up all the time because all they do is eat, sleep, eat, squawk, lay an egg, eat and poop, poop and more poop! Seriously though they are nice and quite funny too. They all have their own personalities and I'm in the process of naming them all.
Next we have Bilbo my rabbit, He's a giant lop eared and he's a soft caramel colour with huge floppy ears. He is a character and loves getting his ears scratched. My son Paul's friend Gemma got him at University in Lincoln and then couldn't keep him as the land lord didn't approve( even though Bilbo is house trained and uses a litter tray). So I took him to save him from Pets at Home adoption service. Plus I'm a sucker for floppy ears. When he is allowed out in the garden he chases the cat's and tries to mate with them, !even Logan! Who runs away looking totally disgusted.
Lastly we have Dink, he was another one of Paul's friends disasters. They got these cute little miniature hamsters who promptly started eating each other! My poor little Dink was getting badly treated by his brothers and sisters and was all bitten and chewed on his tail stump and bottom. So I bought a cage, cleaned him up with mild tea tree and warm water, and a year and a half later he's fully recovered and has a hamster mansion, he loves organic yoghurt which I feed him off the back of a teaspoon, he likes cheerio's as a treat, bits of apple and spring greens and is the happiest little hamster. My son's think it's funny because I keep him in the kitchen and he responds to his name when I call him, but he deserves a nice little life like any other creature ! bless him! And I'm very fond of him.
We also have a large pond in the garden and we keep a couple of Koi carp and Golden Orfe, and we recently discovered we have resident frogs and a couple of toads too which is nice.
